Dr. Kates Joins WellcomeMD Mooresville

March 4, 2024 – Mooresville, NC - Dr. Charity Kates has joined concierge medical practice WellcomeMD in Mooresville, NC. Dr. Kates completed medical school at Pennsylvania State University College and participated in the Complementary and Alternative Medical Program (CAM) learning from integrative medical practitioners.

Although she is considered a family medicine physician, she also practices functional medicine, an area of medicine that focuses specifically on how and why disease occurs for each individual and allows for a personalized treatment plan. Dr. Kates is board certified in Family Medicine and certified by the Institute of Functional Medicine. Her current practice is integrative, mixing traditional science-backed medical techniques with functional-medicine options.

Before joining WellcomeMD, Dr. Kates worked for Parsley Health and was previously employed by Atrium Health and Novant Health. Under this system she worked as a Medical Director for an outpatient family medicine office. 

WellcomeMD was established in 2017 with its headquarters in Richmond, Virginia. The clinic in South Charlotte opened in late 2019 followed by additional offices in Mooresville, NC, and Atlanta, GA. Over the past three years, the company consistently sees membership growth in the double digits.
